(More customer reviews)I go my Quicksteamer last week and spent a day over the weekend cleaning the floors in my condo. I read all of the reviews and did not know what to expect. I was hoping it would do a great job on my carpet and hopefully my wood floors. I have a new puppy so he's been training himself on my carpet a few times. I was almost at the point where I was hoping he would destroy the carpet so I could replace it with wood floors. I looked at a lot of shampooer/steamers and decided that I would go with the Qicksteamer since it does multiple surfaces and small. When I got the box, I was surprise how small the box was. It took me about 3 minutes to put the unit together. It took me longer to get it out of the box. It took me another 5 minutes to figure out and install the hard surface attachment. I was hesitant about how narrow the cleaning surface was but it was compact and light. I started with my bedroom and closet Saturday morning. I dismantled the bed and remove everything from the room. I took over an hour to do all that. I only used hot water and dog urine neutralizer. I had to vacuum and pre-treated a few spots with 409 and a brush. Then I started cleaning. It did a pretty good job with the carpet and the spots that I pre-treated. I was very pleased with the results. For all those people who said it was very wet afterward, I did not have that issue. It was fairly dry right after. I probably took an hour or 2 to completely dry. The small tank was refilled twice and the dirty water tank was emptied twice. It did not get full, it just bubbled a little bit and started spitting out the bubble. I couldn't imagine how bad it would have been if I use the Bissel cleaning formulas. All in all, I was very pleased with the results on the carpet.
I then did the wood floors later that day. I installed the hard surface attachment and used the same hot water/urine neutralizer solution on the wood floors also. I had to sweep the floor first. Then I ran the Quicksteamer on the floors. I was surprise to see how much water was still left on the floor. If you push the unit, there's a lot of water but if you pull, there's less but still more than acceptable. I ended up using a cloth mop afterward to soak up the excess water. I think the Quicksteamer is only a little better than using a cloth mop in that it sprays fresh water on the hard surface but it does not suck it up well enough so you have to go back and mop it up. The hard surface attachment is no more than the scrubber and squeegee part of an auto squeegee. It just blocks the brush from hitting the floor and allow the unit to suck up the water. Disappointed with the hard surface part of the machine.
IMHO, it's a great little unit on carpet but not so great on hard surface.
