(More customer reviews)After adopting a second cat (who apparently wasn't completely litter box trained) he decided to pee on the carpet in my bedroom. And it was a huge spot...I don't know how he did it. It smelled to high Heaven and since I hadn't had a cat since childhood, I had no idea how to get that God awful cat pee smell out. The first and only product I tried was Rug Doctor Urine Eliminator. I saturated the spot with about 3/4 of the bottle, opened some windows and let it sit over night. The next day I was on my hands and knees with my nose in the carpet and couldn't smell a thing. In fact, it smelled quite fresh. I was amazed! Since it was a fresh pee spot I can't say if it gets outs stains, but it certainly got out the smell. For that I gave it 5 stars.

(More customer reviews)The product itself performs satisfactory, but beware of the seller sending only 1 bottle, instead of the promised 3. After complaining, they sent a 2nd bottle...and after complaining again I was refunded $6 to my account for the never received 3rd bottle. I don't believe a 3-pack exists, but the seller assumes you will not bother to complain about getting only 1 bottle despite paying $20. They were wrong in my case. Hope this helps!

(More customer reviews)Enzyme cleaners are wonderful: safe to use and highly effective. Folex Carpet Cleaner is the first enzyme cleaner that I used (large white spray bottle (bigger than this) with purple ink). It worked really well and I only needed a small amount. It zapped up everything. This one seems to be a little less effective than Folex and it's a touch more expensive.
I've also used Wine Away, which seems a little stronger than this product but it is more expensive and the bottle is much smaller. Happily I've learned how to make enzyme cleaner at home so I'll buy less of it now.

Woolite Pet Stain Review

(More customer reviews)I have this in the smaller size. Its not a perfect solution, and I actually prefer Vinegar and Baking soda. I wasn't initially following the instructions exactly, but we all live and learn. I now have my stain treatment in order.
Note: it is very important to pre test on fabric. I was tired and forgot, needed immediate cleaning of sofa. Usually, repeated treatment with Vinegar and Baking Soda would have worked, but used same treatment as carpet. Part of sofa now different color. However, it is old sofa, and is covered with nice kitty throw.
One of my cats occasionally pukes. Its usually a long lasting stain. I used this immediately, as directed - and the puke is gone. Scoop up excess and any debris on floor (paper towels and extra store plastic bag come in handy). Spray and leave on 3 to 5 minutes. Have bucket of warm water ready. Use dust rag/old dish towel to rinse off spray (important - because I wasn't doing this part, carpet had residue and kitty skin was reacting). Switch from dust rag to sponge, try to sop up moisture while rinsing. Follow up with 100% White Vinegar Spray, continue with sponge to wipe deep into carpet (this removes germs, mildew - and provides other cleaning for carpet besides stain removal). Cover with towel until dry. Next day, use towel for wipe up with Hydrogen Peroxide if desired - added benefit.
It gets 4 stars, because cat smell in carpet requires a bit more (and it doesn't clean down deep, sorta masks odors). I've ordered the Bissell QuickSteamer Multi-Surface Upright Deep Cleaner, 2090 to supplement, and use this as a pretreatment as I go throughout the apartment.
All in all, 4 stars for what it does do (at least, some sanitation has been realized).

(More customer reviews)I bought this cleaner after reading multiple reviews saying how well it cleaned. We have two dogs and two kids so the idea of spot cleaning appealed to us. I will give it credit for being easy to use, lightweight and easy to store, but that's where the positve ends. After cleaning, this machine would leave large colored spots on the carpet. The suction was not very good either, as the spot was often wet for a day or two after cleaning. Other cleaners we have used on the same carpets have only taken a couple of hours to dry. I did read a review stating to use less soap to avoid the spots, which we tried and it still left spots, so I have to say I was really disappointed with this cleaner. We're just happy the store took it back.

(More customer reviews)I used to use Simple Solution Stain and Odor Remover all the time, and absolutely loved it! Then when I moved to TX, I couldn't find it in the pet store, so I started getting this Urine Destroyer. I was hoping it would work fairly well, considering it was the same brand as the other one that I LOVED. Well, this didn't disappoint! I could NOT be happier! You just spray it on (love the little retractable nozzle on it) and it says to blot, but I don't always. Sometimes I'll spray it on, leave the room, and forget about it, and when I come back to blot it or check on it, if the urine destroyer has already dried, then I cannot tell where the stain even was!!! So yeah. Minimal work, for the BEST results ever. I was cleaning my carpets the other day with a Hoover carpet cleaner, with their carpet solution made for pets and pet stains, and thought it would work, and that I didn't need to pretreat with Urine Destroyer, but it didn't work at all!!! Thankfully I had some Urine Destroyer, and it worked like a charm!

Dirt Devil SE3890 Purpose for Pets Portable Extractor Review

(More customer reviews)I'm running a small animal shelter and have constantly animals living inside my home as well. Home has lots of carpet and with 9 cats right now there is lot's of hairball vomating with lots of liquid. I tried many things already to clean this mess but the Dirt Devil Portable Extractor is so far the best product for this kind of mess. I have to say that I did not have to use it for removing urine yet so I can't rate that but for puke and stomache liquid this product is amazing. I also found out that you don't necessarily have to use warm or hot water to clean the mess as indicated in the instructions. It cleans very well with cold water which is important when you want the product handy and ready at all times. The water tank of this product needs to be filled with a water soap mix (easy to do and soap comes with first purchase)and you just don't use all the soap and water on all accidents the animals might have and so I tried if I can simply remove the water tank after use (with left over soapy water) and store it next to the Dirt Devil and it works. Even though the Dirt Devil is very easy to handle it is a pain if you have to fill up and mix the soapy water every time you have to use it (which is in my case almost daily) and because I found out that the Dirt Devil cleans my messes on the carpet also with cold soapy water it became as easy to use as a spray bottle. (Keep in mind that I did not try out Urine removal yet, for that kind of mess you might use the warm/hot water mix in the water tank) Also the waste tank is easy to remove and to clean. The only downfall I found so far is that the soaker pipe is leaking water after the use but I solved this problem by simply leaving the strong suction running for maybe two minutes or so after the use and then the leaking stops. If you use my technique and want to re-use the left over clean water you have to remove the water tank from the unit or it will leak as well. But since the Dirt Devil is so EASY to open and so easy with removing all the parts, cleaning it is a brease and is no proplem even if you have to use it daily. Another small flaw is for me that for very small messes the spray nossle sprays to wide and too much water (like for coffee spills on carpet etc.) It would be great if Dirt Devil would event an adjustable spray nossle but even with its small flaws I give this product two thumps up since it made my live with animals soooooo much easier. Bissell 797 Pet Odor and Stain Removal Compact Review

(More customer reviews)I've had this for a while, but don't actually have a deep cleaner... instead I just mix with a bit of water and use on my floor rugs (I have hardwood floors and put rugs in the rooms). Well, a week ago my dog got into the recycling while I was gone, chewed on a tin can right in the middle of my white bedroom rug, and cut her tongue on it. There were thick blood spots all over my rug, and I was sure I'd never get them out. I was in a hurry to go somewhere so I put some of the Bissel on the spots -- didn't even rub it in -- and left with my dog. When we got back about eight hours later, the blood stains were completely gone! My white rug is perfectly white. I couldn't believe it. I was so impressed that I decided to come online and write a review. So if you, like me, have nice rugs and occasionally misbehaving pets, I recommend the Bissel.
(Don't worry, the dog's tongue is fine now too, and she hasn't gotten into the recycling since then... :P)

(More customer reviews)I bought this stuff because of a commercial I saw...I looked it up here cause I'm a big believer in customer reviews. I didn't see a bad one so I decided to give it a try. We have a couple of dogs and cats, and as great as they are they aren't accident free...whether it knocking something over or getting sick, my carpet has definitely seen better days!
I'm in the process of using right now and I can already see a big difference!! I'm using a cleaning brush instead of a mop just so I can make sure I get the stains out and I really don't have to scrub that much! This stuff is great! It doesn't leave that soaked carpet that doesn't completely dry. I can tell that my husband is even impressed even though he won't come out and say it : )
I am very happy and would definitely recommend it!

After my cat puked on the carpet I tried four different stain removers none of which worked. They actually made the stain worse.
This product made the stain disappear with ease. I have to say I'm impressed.
Doesn't work for grease,tar,ink etc. For that I highly recommend Rubbermaid Commercial Quality Carpet Spot and Stain Remover.
(I can't seem to find the Rubbermaid product on line but it is available at Menards and elsewhere.It comes in an 18 oz. aerosol can.)
Between these two I've yet to find a stain they won't remove.

Kirby One Gallon (128 oz) Allergen Shampoo Review

(More customer reviews)I searched all over the internet to find carpet shampoo that was scent free. I finally found this Kirby product. I had never heard of Kirby and couldn't find any reviews, but I thought I would give it a chance.
I'm happy I took a chance with this product. I am using it with my Hoover MaxExtract Dual V. Hoover recommends using their brand of shampoo, but they didn't have an unscented product. The unscented Kirby works very well. It has a very slight odor. I'm not sure how to describe it other than it say it smells "clean." I have an elderly dog who is known for pooping on my carpet at times and this shampoo whisks the smell away. I cannot say whether this product removes urine odors since my dog doesn't have bladder incontinence. My carpet also became visibly cleaner after using this product (although, this is probably a function of the carpet cleaner and the shampoo combined).
I recommend this product to anyone who is sensitive to fragrances. It's more expensive than other shampoos, but definitely worth it to me to avoid a headache.
