I could not find this item in stores....Amazon came through again! This item has been repackaged so did not recognize initially. I have 2 dogs, 1 cat, so I always like to have this product on hand. It definitely outperforms similar products.

Hoover UH70010 Platinum Collection Cyclonic Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner Review

Hoover UH70010 Platinum Collection Cyclonic Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Pardon the vacuum pun, but really, this vacuum sucks... in the best way possible!
I ordered this vacuum on the recommendation of a friend who raved about the "sucking power" of this vacuum. I was in the market for a vacuum but never planned to spend quite so much, but her raving testimonial was quite compelling. I am thrilled that I took her advice because this vacuum is amazing!
I bought this vacuum to replace the two other dinosaur vacuums in my house. One was an old upright that used those old fashioned bags. Hair always tangled up in the belt. It was awful. The other was a bagless upright. Both did an OK job of picking up small surface debris, but I could pass that vacuum over and over and over again and still miss stubborn clingy lint or the small scoopable kitty litter granules. I had all but given up on ever having clean carpet again near the litterbox.
One of the first areas I used the Hoover UH70010 Platinum Collection Cyclonic Bagless Upright Vacuum was on that stubborn litterbox area, and without sounding mellow-dramatic, it was absolutely amazing to see how well it picked up those small granules! One pass got 95% of them, and by the second or third pass, my carpet looked brand new again. I would go over that area 10 times with my old vacs and maybe pick up 25% of the litter, so the performance of this vacuum FAR surpassed my expectations!
In addition to the cat and her aforementioned litterbox, I have two shedding dogs in my house, and when I emptied the container, I had what seemed like an entire extra animal's worth of hair collected. Gross, I know, but it seems there is no challenge too big for this vacuum.
I will note that there are two very similar models to this vacuum: the UH70010 and the UH70015. They are the exact same vacuum in terms of power and appearance, but the UH70015 has an "clean/dirty" indicator light that uses some kind of sensor technology to tell you if your carpet is actually clean. My friend purchased that model and told me she drives herself crazy going over and over and over an area to get the "clean" light to appear. This UH70010 model does not have that indicator light. At Amazon.com, it appears the prices of these two models is about equal at around $399, but I found a steal on the UH70010 for $320 at another online retail site. To me, that light was not worth the extra $80, but if it is important to you, be careful about which model you order.
Regardless of which model you choose, I am certain you will be pleased with this vacuum's performance. It really is an outstanding vacuum.
If cost is a concern, I urge you to consider the value of the lifetime filters and the manufacturer's 6 year warranty. If you have to replace your lesser costing vaccums more frequently, you really might as well spring for a better performing and longer lasting vacuum. Your carpets will look better, and you may even save money in the long run.

Hoover LINX Cordless Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery, 18-Volt, BH50000 Review

Hoover LINX Cordless Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery, 18-Volt, BH50000
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Based on a phone call to Hoover: If you want your battery to last and work properly do not store the battery on the charger or in the vacuum. Fully charge the battery and use it in the vacuum. If the battery runs out, fully charge it again (3 hours and a light on the charger will pulse when ready) and then store it separately. If the battery has not run out you can choose to recharge it so it fully loaded (again, take it off the charger when the light pulses) and then store it separately. Since a full charge only takes 3 hours an overnight charge is not recommended.

Hoover Cyclonic Bagless Upright Vacuum, Platinum Collection, UH70015 Review

Hoover Cyclonic Bagless Upright Vacuum, Platinum Collection, UH70015
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We went through our second Dyson, and decided to switch just for the sake of doing so. Aside from the really high end European models, we opted for this new "prestige" line from Hoover, figuring it would be interesting to see what's the best they can do at a higher price point.
The machine itself looks really good, and when you turn it on, it's like starting a nice car, it almost purrs. The electronic start/stop and the electronic height adjustments are fabulous, very refined. And the machine seems to pick up everything in site.
Now, here are a few things to keep in mind, none of which are deal-breakers, but believe me, this thing is not perfect.
First and foremost, emptying the dirt chamber. At first we thought it was like most other bagless machines, you flick a lever and let the stuff fall in your garbage. But after about a week, we noticed the machine not picking up nearly as well, and we couldn't figure out a thing.
Then we looked carefully and saw that a huge collection of hair and debris had collected inside an inner cup, wrapped around the so-called cyclonic device.Once we got rid of that stuff, the vacuum was like new again. Still, it is hardly referred to in the manual, and it is rather a messy task.
Finally is the "dirt" indicator. It works on some sort of audio principle, sending out sounds which come back distored if they run in to dirt. I find that this works most of the time, but sometimes, it just stays red, and even after going over the area five times, it stays red.
I guess one could beef about the extension cord, why they didn't come up with some better way to unreel it and attach it to the machine. This is just like every other vacuum in that respect, but the cord seems longer.
I think I would buy it again, but the bag emptying procedure is sloppy and very unsophisticated. I'd be looking for machines that might do that job better.

Earth Friendly Products Carpet Shampoo, 32-Ounce Bottle (Pack of 6) Review

This stuff is wonderful! I was a little worried about how well it would clean but I did both carpet and a sofa and am VERY HAPPY. I could not believe how much dirt it picked up! The smell is perfect... clean but not overbearing. It doesn't burn your nose & throat like some of the other synthetic cleaners. I have dogs who love to lay on the couch all day and it took the dog smell out and left it smelling fresh... I did not think that was even possible! THANK YOU!!!!! :)

Hoover Mega-Carpet Care Kit with Spray Applicators Review

Hoover Mega-Carpet Care Kit with Spray Applicators
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This kit comes with a variety of carpet care products for a great price. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is because there are a couple of things in the kit that I cannot use. For example, you get a bottle of cleaner for use when you have pets. As I have no pets I gave it to my neighbor who does.
Still you get a lot for a very good price. Even if you don't use everything the set still pays for itself. Also, the pre-treatment is VERY effective. It, paired with my Hoover steamvac, go out a stain in my carpet that had been there for over a year.

Earth Friendly Carpet Shampoo (976608) Review

Earth Friendly Carpet Shampoo (976608)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I went with this brand because my son is slowly working on his crawling skills and tends to scoot himself face down. I would rather not have toxic chemical residue from the regular carpet shampoos on his face and in his mouth. It did a good job cleaning my (fairly clean already) light colored carpet and smells quite nice. However, I was a tad disappointed. It is NOT 40:1. The instructions say to use 1.5 to 2.5 oz per gallon of water. I went with the 1.5 and there is no way this bottle will do 3 average sized rooms; I just did my dining nook and small living room and used over half the bottle. If you have medium to large rooms, get more than one bottle.

Bissell® Bronze PROheat 2X® Cleanshot® Pet Review

Bissellandreg; Bronze PROheat 2Xandreg; Cleanshotandreg; Pet
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
If you are looking at home carpet cleaning machines, you'll soon find that most of the models are either Bissell or Hoover. Which is better? I've had both and I can tell you that they excel at different things. The Bissell machines have a roller brush that digs into your carpet and seems to get the carpet cleaner. The Hoover has rotating brushes that don't seem to get as much dirt out, but are gentler to your carpet. The Hoovers have separate clean water and dirty water tanks. For an equal size unit, it seems like Hoover holds more, The Hoover tanks are easier to clean but harder to empty. The Bissell has a one tank design where the clean water sits on top in an expanding/contracting bladder. The Bissell needs to be emptied more frequently but is easier to empty. For some reason, neither Bissell that I've had got the carpet as dry as the Hoover. This model Bissell at least, is quieter than my Hoover. I bought this model Bissell because it has the heater and the selector where you can choose the strength of the solution. I had the heated water on an earlier Bissell, and that's the one thing I missed on the Hoover. The pet brush is of questionable value. You might be better off getting the all-floors model with the hard floor attachment. The Cleanshot squirter seems of marginal usefulness, and you can probably do without it without missing it.
To summarize, here's the overall picture on Bissell vs. Hoover - if you value carpets that are as clean as possible, pick the Bissell. If you want the carpets not quite as clean but ready for furniture to be moved back in ASAP, pick the Hoover. The Hoover also needs less vacuuming after cleaning because it generates less loose carpet fiber. The Bissell is quieter. Either one is a whole lot better than nothing or renting a supermarket machine. If you are a party person and clean your carpets before you entertain, pick the Hoover. If you have pets and kids that get your carpets really nasty, get the Bissell.
FYI my Hoover was the earlier version of this one. Hoover MaxExtract Dual V Carpet Cleaner, Black, F7412900 It's a little cheaper (usually) than this Bissell. My last Hoover and my last Bissell each lasted 4 years, with the last year being nursed along with improvised patch-ups.

Hoover Platinum Collection Carpet Cleaner with MaxExtract Technology, F8100900 Review

Hoover Platinum Collection Carpet Cleaner with MaxExtract Technology, F8100900
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We should really be hired to test vacuum and carpet cleaners, but even so the price of this dream clean machine gave me some pause (okay, a lot). With 2 kids, 3 dogs, and 2 cats and fairly light carpets, we put our cleaners to the test. I have gone through SEVERAL carpet cleaners (roughly 1 every 2 years) and have also had the carpets professionally cleaned. Honestly, this carpet cleaner cleaned as well if not better than the pros, and worlds better than our current Hoover F6207-900 SteamVac Lite Carpet Cleaner with Heated Cleaning.
Pros:
1) Handle can lay back fully with no strain on the hose - I mention this after replacing the hoses several times on previous Hoovers
2) You do NOT have to mix the detergent!!!! Wow - what a great feature, no waste!
3) 2 separate rollers actually scrub the carpet amazingly well
4) No fuss dial system - incredibly easy to go between standard clean, spot clean (does not pick up so you can scrub, scrub, scrub away the years of bad carpet cleaners), and rinse (the water rinse is GREAT!)
5) Easy to follow indicator lights let you know if you know when it is cleaning (detergent), rinsing (water only), or drying (neither light on)
6) Spot clean is easy to follow - actually squirts out the front so you can actually see the spot you are hitting (2 settings, spray or stream)
7) My previous Hoovers had this obnoxious detachable hose reel, and then when the clips that hold it on break, you find yourself dragging accessories around the house - this one is not detachable.
8) The hose remains attached, you don't have to plug it in, so no hose door to break and lose (yeah, I've done that too)
9) Scrubber assembly comes off easily for cleaning (but not the front roller, which might be a problem if you don't maintain it)
10) generous cord longer than previous Hoovers
11) 6 year warranty makes it cheaper than replacing 3 $200 Hoovers with 1 year warranties (just check where your service center is - ours is about 30 miles away and always very responsive)
12) Since it is clear plastic (opposed to grey or purple) it is easier to see when the water being picked up becomes fairly clear indicating you have extracted the maximum amount of dirt you can
Cons:
1) It's big - and heavy - and I have tons of stairs
2) Blue light shining on carpet - this gives me eye strain after a while
3) Waste container - there's no delicate way to dump it - it's opening is like a big bucket and it gets everywhere. I suppose it will get better with practice, and it is easier to clean this way, but I think it was a step backward
4) Very small holes to pour in the detergent and water - buy a funnel since the detergent is pricey
5) Detergent guzzler
Eh's (take 'em or leave 'em):
1) Heat - I don't think it really did much (It didn't feel substantial)
2) Waste container sensor - doesn't detect the detergent well, with the clear plastic, it's pretty obvious when they need emptying/filling
3) Blue light - why blue - simulated uv? It doesn't actually illuminate anything.
4) Carry handle - it's made of molded plastic and is in the back, so... yeah, pretty awkward hoisting it up and down the stairs. But, I really don't have a better option, so am not putting it as a con.
How did it do???
If I had known how well it would do, I would have taken pictures or video, because it is unbelievable. I cleaned my ancient 15 year old carpets (about 1600 sq. feet worth) and actually managed to get them back very near their original color. Shockingly old stains that my kidlets provided that were not removed by the pros or the old cleaners are gone. One caveat here is that I used around 64 ounces of detergent. I started with the professional grade, but used the cheap stuff in the kids' rooms (smells better anyway). Based on the amount used and lack of discernable difference, I cannot recommend the "professional" cleaner but instead Hoover 40321130 Premium Pet Formula Carpet/Upholstery Detergent, 128-Ounce, which has what I would call a lemony scent. If you are scent sensitive, then try Hoover 40321128 Deep Cleansing Carpet/Upholstery Detergent, 128-Ounce. I use the 4-for-3 to really make it a great buy. In any event, I took my time actually read the directions for once and made sure I did several dry passes. I took advantage of the spot clean followed by rinse only for high traffic areas, used the powered hand tool on the stairs, and the upholstery brush on our chairs. All works admirably providing results that made the initial investment worth it. The carpets look amazing and were dry within two hours (aided along by a hot day).

Hoover Platinum Collection Professional-Strength Carpet-and-Upholstery Detergent, 50 Ounces, AH30030 Review

Hoover Platinum Collection Professional-Strength Carpet-and-Upholstery Detergent, 50 Ounces, AH30030
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
From the other reviews, I expected a lot. I previously used Hoover's "Deep Cleansing" detergent (green bottles).
I didn't see a difference between the results I previously got and now with this "Platinum" and "Professional-Strength" version. I even used this product at double strength on high-traffic areas. The particularly dirty areas needed a second-pass; the spots I missed with a pre-treating spray were still there.
Since the "Deep Cleansing" detergent is available in 128oz bottles for about the same price as this 50oz bottle, I recommend the "Deep Cleansing" detergent.
Note: I used boiling hot water with a "Hoover F5912900 TurboPower 5200 SteamVac Carpet Cleaner with Clean Surge". I followed the tips from the reviews for the SteamVac and was very happy with the deep cleaning results from the SteamVac. I know my one-star review for this detergent is an anomaly from the other reviews, but using the exact same SteamVac and methods, but with different detergent, I saw that this "Professional-Strength" product costs more but did not perform better than the "Deep Cleansing" detergent. I don't think any other reviews point this out (at least not strongly enough -- I mean, twice the amount of cleaning power for the same price is a big deal, at least to me).

Hoover Platinum Collection Pet Plus Carpet-and-Upholstery Detergent, 50 Ounces, AH30035 Review

Hoover Platinum Collection Pet Plus Carpet-and-Upholstery Detergent, 50 Ounces, AH30035
Average Reviews:

I have tried, on a number of different occasions, a few of the Hoover carpet detergents: The lesser expensive Hoover Deep Cleansing detergent (a very nice all-purpose detergent), the Hoover Premium Pet Formula (great scent), and the (more expensive) Hoover Platinum Pet Plus. They are ALL great carpet cleaning detergents... but I would have to confess that I didn't find a huge cleaning difference between the Deep Cleansing and the Premium Pet Formula (I would favor the Pet Formula over the Deep Cleansing -- the Pet Formula has a lovely powdery scent and little bit more cleaning power that's worth an extra couple of bucks, I think).
All of that said, the Platinum Pet Plus detergent... whoa, that was a BIG cut above the rest. Twice the price, but twice the performance. It's a killer price-wise for me -- I can use an entire bottle of the stuff on just one good-sized room (we have a lot of dogs free-roaming our house plus we live in a rural mountain/country environment). But, if you compare it with the expense of professional carpet cleaning, or the cost to replace a room of carpet, a few extra bucks on the Platinum Pet Plus detergent is a great alternative when you have a seriously soiled carpet. In the end, I think I'll spring for the Platinum Pet Plus when the carpets are really THAT bad (more often than I'd like to confess to) or for a semi-annual cleaning, and then use the Premium Pet Formula for in-between light maintenance. If money were no object, I'd buy the Platinum Pet Plus every time. It's that good.
