None of our granite surfaces are in bad shape and have been kept reasonably clean over the years. But the sealer that was applied when they were installed has long worn off. I have looked at products that are supposed to be for home use at the home improvement stores but never wanted to try them because they are caustic and toxic, requiring 2 different products and separate applications.
I used Granite CPR for the first time on our granite countertop in the master bath. It is odorless and applies easily leaving a beautiful polished surface, gleaming and smooth to the touch. Water splash beads up and is easily wiped away. I'm very happy with this product and will continue to use it on all our granite surfaces.
I first cleaned the counter top with mild soap and water, wiped dry and then applied Granite CPR with a soft, lint free cotton cloth (which I discarded when the job was done). I noticed small, light water spots that still remained after my soap and water cleaning disappeared as I rubbed in the Granite CPR. Afterwards I wiped the counter with a clean cotton cloth to absorb excess, but there didn't seem to be much. The liquid was absorbed into the granite. So the second cloth was more of a polishing cloth as it was almost dry when I finished. I followed the instructions on the tube and used rubber gloves from start to finish.
