Fresh Wave Multi-Purpose Cleaning Additive, 32 Ounce Review

Fresh Wave Multi-Purpose Cleaning Additive, 32 Ounce

Pleasant smell. I have an adorable shelter cat, that was extremely timid. She seems to wet on a soft surface when there is any disruption to her household, with the master's bed and pillow and our dog's bed being her favorite spots. She has been checked out by the vet, and seems to be doing better the longer we have her.
If I add a little to the prewash, wash and rinse I only have to launder the item ONCE. There is no lingering smell from the "accident" that would cause her to return to the spot and use it again. I haven't needed to use the second bottle as often as the first.

Fresh Wave Odor Neutralizing Carpet Shake, 6-Ounce Containers (Pack of 6) Review

Fresh Wave Odor Neutralizing Carpet Shake, 6-Ounce Containers (Pack of 6)

I definitely noticed the difference each time I added this treatment, so much so that I'm adding this review here even though I bought this stuff at Bed, Bath & Beyond.
Earlier this year I acquired a mid-century modern Rya rug, a natural wool shag that has spent most of its life in storage and thus had taken on a distinct musty smell. This is the only carpet on otherwise hardwood floors so it's clear where the odor was coming from. When I had a pregnant friend over and she politely but firmly insisted I keep the window open on a cool day I knew I had to do something about the slightly vomity stale smell, which I would notice upon entering the place and then forget about and less sensitive noses would not apparently pick up on (or were attached to mouths too polite to say). I started with the crystals and opening the window each day, which didn't do much.
The first shake treatment not only reduced the mustiness 40%, the rug felt much nicer and fuller after treatment. The container was enough for three or four treatments (it's a big area rug - 8 x 12) and before this last treatment I had it down to about 10% of the previous odor - I believe I have just delivered the knockout punch.
Bonus - my kids are super picky about scents (they hate them) and did not complain even while I was doing the treatment. It's a nice fresh scent, natural.
So here is a rug that a reputable chem dry outfit had said they couldn't help restore (they gave it a cursory cleaning and left without charging me) that is now nearly as good as new, and certainly as good as it gets for a rug from the 1960's.

Hoover AH30125 48-Ounce Premium Pet Formula Detergent Review

Hoover AH30125 48-Ounce Premium Pet Formula Detergent
Average Reviews:

Our dogs got into a marking war in one particular room, which of course was carpeted. The Hoover Premium Pet Formula Detergent when used in Hoover SteamVac Carpet Cleaner, All-Terrain, F7452900 took both the urine stains and horrid smells out of the carpet. The product works well, and leaves a pleasant aroma in the room.

Nature's Miracle Stain & Odor Remover for Pets Review

Nature's Miracle Stain and Odor Remover for Pets
Average Reviews:

It worked for 1 day and then the odor returned. I ended up using a home remedy that was not only effective but much, much cheaper. I found a site that offered to rememdies to remove cat urine odor in my rug. The first was to mix white vinegar and water, 50-50. The second was to mix peroxide, baking soda, and a few drips of dish washing detergant. I did both remedies, one after the other, and although to smell was a bit poignant and my son had to sleep with me for a night becuase of the smell and the chill in the room, it worked and the smell hasn't returned. This neutralizes the amonia in the urine crystals permanently.

Bissell PowerSteamer PowerBrush Select Upright Deep Cleaner, 1623 Review

Bissell PowerSteamer PowerBrush Select Upright Deep Cleaner, 1623

I had bought this for my wife after a lengthy search on the internet and we've not been disappointed. The first occasion to use it came after one of our four legged pets had an accident on our beige rug. It loads easily and it's handy how the clean water and the waste water share space on the small, cartridge. It's surprisingly light weight too. We'd had a Bissell previously from about 10 years ago and that was a large, 4 wheeled item that you pulled behind you. As I recall that cleaned pretty well but all the water fittings leaked no matter how hard you tightened them. I'm glad to say that this Bissell cleans even better and there are no leaks to be seen.
This has been a good purchase for us!

Carpet CPR Spot & Stain Remover Review

Carpet CPR Spot and Stain Remover
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We have 5 toy dogs, 3 of them Seniors and one of them is 13 years old! At this point in time, replacing the carpet is not an option nor is getting rid of the dogs. Weekly carpet shampooing is our best line of defense along with multiple "pet spot and stain removers" but nothing has really worked.
While shopping this weekend in a major warehouse store, I saw "Carpet CPR". I had heard of it but never really paid any attention to the ads. Since the price was right, actually less than any of the pet type carpet cleaners, we purchased a package of two spray bottles.
My first impression was that the scent was too strong and I wondered if I could stand the smell. I was very happy to discover that it went away quite quickly. Then the TRUE test....does it work?!?!?!
I am happy to report that it does. I tried it on a wet spot, left it on for 5 minutes and then blotted it up. The smell was gone and so was the stain. Then I used the mist setting on the bottle and lightly sprayed the entire carpet and left it on without blotting it up. I was totally amazed to discover that the smell is GONE completely!! And, as a plus, Carpet CPR does not leave the carpet sticky like the majority of the pet cleaners do.
Although Carpet CPR seems to be available in a lot of places, we plan to return to the warehouse store and purchase more at a cheaper price. After spending a small fortune on other pet carpet cleaners, this stuff is priceless. I highly recommend it to owners of elderly pets or multiple pet households.

Hoover OXY Detergent, 48 Ounces, AH30140 Review

Hoover OXY Detergent, 48 Ounces, AH30140
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My wife & I just finished off our first 48 oz. bottle of Hoover's Oxy Detergent. All that I can say is that I was really hoping for more from this product. We have shampooed two main rooms with this detergent and a Hoover SteamVac Carpet Cleaner, All-Terrain, F7452900, and it is from this that I base my review.
One of these rooms is our family room which contains a door to the garage. The carpet by that door is an obvious problem area. The other problem is the plain & simple fact that it is the family room. The amount of traffic in that room can be seen as a dingy path in front of the seating. Overall, the SteamVac seemed to pull up a lot of dirt, but this review is about the cleaner & not the...well....cleaner (SteamVac). Aside from the SteamVac lifting up copious amounts of mid- to fine-grained dirt, I cannot tell any difference in the brightness of the carpet between areas that I repeatedly shampooed and those areas that were not cleaned at this time.
In the second room (our 'formal' living room), there were a couple of spots from one spill or another (prior to getting a carpet shampooer). The same condition as above applies here. I repeatedly scrubbed a couple small, spotted areas and a quick passover on the traffic pathways. At the end, there is no discernible difference between the clean but uncleaned, the lightly cleaned, and the thoroughly scrubbed sections of carpet.
If I had seen some kind of improvement in the coloration or renewed rebound in the pile of the carpet, I might think that the Oxy cleaner was at work. Unfortunately, it not only failed to lighten up some of our Kool-Aid stains, but it left virtually no difference in look or feel between cleaned & (clean) uncleaned carpet. I can draw no other conclusion than it is no more effective than any of the cheaper detergents. To that end, save yourself a couple dollars, and buy regular detergent. If nothing else, spend those couple dollars on a pre-treat spray of some type.

This is what the hoover steam vac recommends. I have not used another product with the machine. This works fairly well, but won't remove deep embedded stains. Cost is comparable to similar products.
What impresses me and makes me want to clean is that this product smells so good- citrus-y... I love it. Washes cleanly without residue and does not foam.
Incidentally, I actually use spray and wash for laundry to pretreat stains.

Bissell 2X Pet Stain and Odor Advanced Formula, 24 Ounces, 99K5 Review

Bissell 2X Pet Stain and Odor Advanced Formula, 24 Ounces, 99K5
Average Reviews:

I think the problem here is that our dog's urine from accidents has soaked through to the padding in the carpet. Despite using our Bissel "heated" carpet deep cleaner/steamer, we can still get a strong urine odor. Lesson is: don't expect this to solve all of your issues. It's okay for "light" to medium cleaning, but anything that was heavily saturated will need alternative cleaning methods (i.e. ripping up the carpet and replacing segments of padding).
