Tide Buzz Stain Remover Powered by Black & Decker Review

Tide Buzz Stain Remover Powered by Black and Decker

The Buzz works on stains really well -- I zapped and removed an old oil stain on my wife's blouse quickly and easily.
But there's a but: The Buzz stopped buzzing a day after I got it. I called the Black and Decker 800 customer service number enclosed in the box and I explained the problem.
After reading a serial number off the AC-adapter's plug, they told me to cut the plug from the cord, gave me an RMA number, and ship it to them; they said they'd ship me a new unit.
After a little argument, they agreed to pay the shipping to me. (Talk about dopey -- the product's brand new and defective!).
Buzz positives:
1. It works as advertised - at least on the few sample stains I tried. If it saves just one $40 Polo shirt, it's paid for itself.
2. It can be wall mounted, saving space.
Buzz negatives:
1. The AC adapter is annoying large and takes up an inordinate amount of space on the wall outlet. I AC adapters.
2. Removing a stain can take 10 minutes or more depending, of course, on the size and nastiness of the stain.
3. The cord is stiff. I would have preferred a coiled cord, something that had a little spring to it. But then I wouldn't be able to easily wrap the cord around the unit. Trade-offs are tough.
Four Buzz tricks:
1. Don't bother getting more of the expensive, white paper refills. I used a soft white towel and it worked just fine.
2. After you run out of the two Tide containers with cleaning solution included in the box, use any "stain remover" fluid (not laundry detergent). I did and it worked just fine (unless, of course, that's what damaged the unit).
3. If you have a black light (think Halloween and glowing white shirts), use it to help make the stain stand out. Home Depot sells a fluorescent black light and fixture for about $10.
4. Keep the box and all the packing material just in case you have to return it.

Black & Decker SPV1800 18V Cordless Platinum Series Hand Vac Review

Black and Decker SPV1800 18V Cordless Platinum Series Hand Vac

This review is for; 18 Volt Cordless Vac SPV1800 [Platinum Series]
After my 9.6-volt Black & Decker Cordless Vacuum wouldn't hold a charge anymore after a few years of use, I decided to try Black & Decker's 18-Volt Version & I'm glad I did! The best thing about this vacuum is the battery is removable and is also compatible with other Black & Decker power tools such as their cordless drill. The battery is also available separately if you need to replace it without buying another whole vacuum. The bigger battery also has longer run times than the previous 9.6-volt version which is at least runs more than twice as long or more. The suction power is adequate even though it only has one speed (the 9.6 volt version had two speeds, but the high speed would rapidly drain the battery).
The only thing I don't like about this vacuum is it doesn't come with any attachments, but if you owned the previous Black & Decker 9.6-volt version, you might want to keep the two crevice attachments because they will fit in this new one. Great cordless vacuum to have for auto use or quick clean-ups around the house!

Black & Decker 4.8-Volt Compact Cordless HandVac, CHV4800 Review

I bought this for the little things, and for that it works- as long as it doesn't take you more than about 3-4 minutes to clean up. The battery on this thing sucks. It takes a long time to get a full charge and a full charge means only about 4 minutes of battery usage.
Save yourself the frustration and spend the extra few dollars to get a higher quality vacuum.

Dirt MagicTM Wet/Dry Auto Vacuum Cleaner Review

Dirt MagicTM Wet/Dry Auto Vacuum Cleaner

Don't buy this. When you first open it, you immediately notice that it's not a well-made product... uneven edges, cheap materials, overall very cheap-looking. Then when you turn it on, it fails as a vacuum cleaner completely. Does not "suck" even the smallest piece of dirt, and it picks up the dust and blows it all over the place instead of keeping it inside. Terrible, terrible product... get away from it. Just got it today, and I just printed out the return label after trying it out. DON'T BUY!

Black & Decker HV9010P Retriever Pet-Series Cyclonic-Action Corded Dustbuster and Blower Review

Black and Decker HV9010P Retriever Pet-Series Cyclonic-Action Corded Dustbuster and Blower

My son's dog is the ideal dog with one exception. He sheds like crazy! I can vacuum the wood floor but the furniture turns into a furry mess when he rubs against it. I've bought every gadget that I could find to try to deal with this with no avail. This vacuum pulls the hair from the fabric with little time and effort. The rubber nubs instead of bristles on the brush really do the trick. I hope that larger vacuums will follow with this concept.

Black & Decker PSV1800 18-Volt Cordless Pivoting Floor Vacuum Cleaner Review

Black and Decker PSV1800 18-Volt Cordless Pivoting Floor Vacuum Cleaner
Average Reviews:

This cordless vacuum cleaner (I LOVE cordless vacuum cleaners) has a lot of positives to recommend it. It does a great job for quick (dog hair) clean ups. Good suction. Good on the edges and area rugs. Easy to maneuver. Really gets under most furniture without argument or bumps, and even fits between the chair legs (in our house). The battery lasts. Feels substantial. Stores easily and out of the way.
A good machine.
But the dirt removal is a problem. Like most quick clean vacuums, there is way too much hand-to-gunk contact. But unlike machines that have some version of a cup that you can empty, this machine needs to be folded, lifted and held over the trash bin. And the weight that made the machine feel solid, is now awkward and unbalanced and makes emptying the dirt an aggravation. For some of us, this is a problem, even with our Wheaties.
Maybe placing the machine into a plastic grocery bag that's on the floor and then opening the dust bin to empty, and then reaching my hand in to pull out the two filters for cleaning? Is that the answer?
I don't know. If somehow the ease of cleaning out the dirt from the Hoover Linx could be combined with the ease of actually using the B&D Pivoting Floor Vacuum ("pivoting" because it folds in half), I would be wild happy.
